SolidEnv — Senior DevOps and SRE

A senior ops engineer for teams that don't have one

We help SaaS teams, NGOs, and content platforms run production without a full-time hire. We get your servers fixed, secured, documented, and kept in code you own. 15+ years in production since 2010.

  • 15+ years in production since 2010
  • ~250 sites on one deploy process
  • Mail restored across 140+ apps
  • Direct work in English and Arabic

You're probably here because one of these just happened

The site is down and nobody knows the servers

It is 3 a.m., production crashed, and the engineer who built it left. We step in read-only, find the fault, bring services back, and write down how everything works.

Your host says your server is attacking other systems

An email warns that your server is sending spam or mining crypto. We contain the compromise, prove how intruders got in, remove known traces, and harden your setup.

Your email provider suspended sending and customer messages bounce

Invoices and password resets are failing because the provider suspended your mail domain. We measure the real cause, fix it, and set up your email authentication properly.

An audit demands proof of backups, monitoring, and security controls

A donor, auditor, or client demands written ops records you do not have. We test your live systems and backups, and give you evidence a third party can re-check. Gaps are stated, not hidden.

Five ways to work with us, priced up front

You see the price before work starts. Most clients start with the audit to find risks and plan fixes.

Infrastructure & Security Audit

From $2,500 · 1-2 weeks · fixed price

Teams facing an audit or donor review, inheriting undocumented servers, or watching cloud bills grow.

You know what is risky, what it costs, and what to fix first. Two fixes are already done.

  • A findings report ranked by risk, each with impact and fix
  • A 30/60/90-day plan
  • Two agreed quick fixes done during the audit
  • A walkthrough call to review findings

Incident & Compromise Response

From $1,500 · starts in 24-72 hours

Teams with a hacked server, mail blocked or going to spam, or a site down.

The attack is stopped. You know how they got in, the door is closed, and management has a written report.

  • Containment of compromised servers
  • Root cause proven with evidence
  • Cleanup and server hardening
  • A written incident report and a 7-day follow-up check

Migration & Modernization

Fixed quote after the audit · 2-8 weeks

Teams moving between cloud providers, moving live sites with little downtime, or replacing hand-built servers.

You move with little downtime and a tested way back at every step. Your servers end up defined in code you own.

  • A step-by-step migration plan with a way back at every step
  • Your servers set up from code in your own repository
  • Live cutover with tested fallbacks
  • Handover documents for your team

AI-Native Operations Adoption

From $5,000 · 3-6 weeks

Engineering leadership wanting AI agents to handle day-to-day ops safely under human control.

AI agents take over routine chores, while strict access rules and human sign-offs keep production safe.

  • An operational readiness review
  • Access and approval rules for AI agents
  • One to two agent workflows running in production
  • Training for your team

Managed SRE Retainer

From $1,500/month

Teams wanting an experienced senior engineer caring for production systems without a full-time hire.

Each month your servers are patched, your backups are restored as a test, and you get a short report.

  • System monitoring and alert triage
  • Operating system and security patching
  • Backups tested by restoring them
  • A monthly report of what changed

What changed for clients

Client names stay private. Each story shows the problem, what changed for the business, and one concrete number.

Education & content group

One way to run ~250 websites

Challenge. Over 200 websites were deployed by hand. Each site was set up in its own way, making updates slow and inconsistent.

Result. All ~250 sites now launch and update the same way. A new site goes live from a short settings file, and every change is reviewed first.

Education & content platform

Mail back for 140+ apps after spam

Challenge. A leaked password was used to send about 870,000 spam emails overnight. The provider blocked all sending, stopping password resets and transactional mail for unrelated apps.

Result. The abuse stopped. Email credentials were replaced and tested across 140+ apps, and the platform now cuts off offending credentials automatically.

International NGO

Hacked servers cleaned, and the way in proven

Challenge. Intruders planted malware and a crypto-miner on shared web servers. The server's own tools could no longer be trusted to inspect the system.

Result. The way in was proven: the attacker's files appeared 14 seconds after a hosting-panel login. The panel was closed, passwords changed, known traces removed, and management got a written report with the remaining risk.

Hosting platform

Failing disk replaced on a live server, one reboot

Challenge. The main disk mirror on a live server was failing. The replacement disk was smaller, so the normal swap would not work.

Result. The live system and about 100 running services moved to the new mirror. Downtime was one reboot, keeping the old disk as a way back.

NGO email

The real cause of a mail suspension, measured

Challenge. The email provider suspended the organization's mail domain. The team thought it was a blocklist and did not know what to fix.

Result. The real cause was found: a campaign tool kept re-sending to dead addresses. 1,659 of them caused 83% of the week's failures. It was fixed without stopping campaigns, and email authentication was set up properly.

When leadership asks for your AI ops plan

Your leadership wants AI adoption, but unvetted automation risks production. We help teams use AI agents for routine ops chores like documentation and alert triage. We already run AI agents on our own ops work and have brought this process into a client team. A human approves every change, secrets never reach the agent, and all actions are logged.

  • Agents get only the access a task needs
  • A human approves every merge, deploy, and secret
  • Secrets never reach the agent
  • Every action is logged and can be undone

Three steps that remove ops risk

Read-only access first

We inspect your systems without changing settings. We sign an NDA first, diagnose the root cause, and prove it with evidence before recommending changes.

Approved changes with a way back

Nothing changes in production without your approval. Every change has a tested way back before we touch anything.

Handover in your own repositories

All code, settings, and documentation stay in your repositories. You own everything, so your team can run systems without us.

About SolidEnv

SolidEnv is led by Ahmed Abukamel, senior DevOps/SRE engineer, 15+ years in production since late 2010. He carries out the work himself. When a project needs extra hands, we bring in a trusted engineer we have worked with. You work directly with the senior engineer who does the work, not through account managers or middlemen. We handle Linux servers, cloud setups, backups, monitoring, email delivery, and compromise response. We prove the cause with evidence before changing anything, and we leave all code and documentation in your repositories. We work remotely in English and Arabic.

Frequently asked questions

Why work with a small specialist practice instead of a large provider?

You work directly with the senior engineer who does the work. No account managers, no handoff to juniors. You get one senior person who knows your systems end to end.

What happens if you are unavailable or busy?

We take on a limited number of projects at a time. Everything is documented in your repository, and a trusted engineer can step in when needed. For retainers, the response window is agreed in writing.

How do you access our systems, and do you sign an NDA?

We sign an NDA before getting access. We start read-only, use least privilege, and make no changes without your approval. Every change has a tested way back, and access is removed when work ends.

Do AI agents see our data or our passwords?

Not your secrets: they never reach the agent. Agents get only the access a task needs, and a human approves every change. All actions are logged and can be undone. We only use agents on your systems if you agree.

How does pricing work?

The audit is a fixed price, from $2,500. Incident response starts from $1,500. Migration projects get a fixed quote after the audit. Retainers are billed monthly. You always see the price before work starts.
